We talked about sales development with Lizia Santos, CEO and Co-founder of Citycatt, a diverse and curated community of locals opening doors to your next trip.
1. How would you describe your company in an elevator pitch?
Citycatt is where travelers easily plan amazing trips with help from local and travel influencers.
2. What are you the best at?
Our greatest asset is our curated global community of local and travel influencers – or Citycatts. These are passionate locals and travelers who have social validation and have proven to be reliable sources of information in destinations.
Our Citycatts deliver personalized Trip Plans inside our own Trip Planner, collaborating with travelers in the process, to make sure all itineraries contemplate the Travelers’ expectations and needs.

3. How did you find your first customers?
Through Social Media engagement and targeted PR efforts.
4. What are your customers saying about your product?
Our first customers are impressed with how much our Catts are over delivering. In one of our early customers own words:
“But, it was the response from my Catt that has me considering that, wondering if all are that fabulous. Due to my planning level, I basically did this on a lark cause I had most of my plan so I only asked for three days. The Catt overachieved and planned or suggested for all days. I was most impressed with the day that her recommendation for activity and restaurant matched what I had already decided on for that day. While I have not gone to any of the recommendations yet, I will be happy to give feedback after if you desire, they look good and the majority I did not know about. Looking forward to checking them out and very happy with my Catt and the service.”
5. What are your proud achievements so far?
I’m very proud of how diverse is my team and community of Catts, representing many different cultural and professional backgrounds. Together, we have so much potential to change the way people experience destinations.

6. What is the next big thing in your industry?
Travelers are eager for authentic and safe trips and the Hospitality Industry is moving towards decentralization, with people looking to explore beyond traditional crowded destinations and attractions. Our Citycatts is a decentralized network of help for this emerging decentralized Tourism market.
7. What are your plans for next 6-12 months?
We’re currently serving travelers in 66 destinations, across 33 countries. We’re aiming to double our network of Catts and destinations, and focusing on scaling the process of curation and onboarding of our supply, as well as developing camaraderie between this diverse and global community.
