We talked about sales development with Daniel Liebeskind, the CEO of Topia. This is a social experience metaverse to take your relationships to the next level.

1. How would you describe your company in an elevator pitch?
Topia is a social experience platform where anyone can create a network of customizable virtual worlds for real time connection and play. Click to move and video chat to anyone in your proximity.

2. What are you the best at?
I specialize in rapid prototyping, product roadmap and vision, and developing highly scalable and flexible software.

3. What customer acquisition strategy did you use to find your first customers?
Our first customer committed upfront to paying me $10k if I could build a platform to host a gathering for 100 people within 4 weeks. 3 weeks later, I launched Topia with enough features to make that event’s first visitors proclaim that it was the most connected and impactful moment they had experienced since the beginning of the pandemic.

5. What are your proud achievements so far?
We hosted over 20,000 people at the official online Burning Man in 2020 – just 4 months after I wrote the first line of code for the platform. We hosted 1k Asana employees to come together when they IPOd in September 2020. Entering 2022, we are regularly seeing over 400 events each week in Topia and recently closed a $200k ARR deal for a series of events that are expected to bring in ~12,000 concurrent visitors.

6. What is the next big thing in your industry?
Topia is launching a social experience engine that allows any organization, company, or brand to create their own metaverse ecosystem. We expect to have 5 enterprise deals deployed with this system in the next 6 months.

7. What are your plans for next 6-12 months?
We are planning to raise a $20m+ Series A in the fall of 2022.
