We talked about sales development with Mithun Adith, the CEO of Spotkwik. This is an AR social shopping app which aims to help buyers make smart purchase decisions.

1. How would you describe your company in an elevator pitch?
SpotKwik brings trail rooms to customer’s mobile camera and help them make smart purchase decisions thereby increasing the ROI of commerce companies.

2. What are you the best at?
Over the years, we have built a team that is flexible in approach, willingness to learn from past mistakes, openness to feedback and getting its hands dirty to make things happen. Building a team like this is our best asset and strength, which will see every problem as an opportunity to innovate, rather than a chance to fail.

3. What customer acquisition strategy did you use to find your first customers?
We inculcate the ‘Traction-thinking’ mindset since the day we started building our product. This has helped us build our proprietary growth channel within the product like influencer marketing, rather than opting for orthodox distribution channels. This acted as our primary source of user acquisition and with this, we have acquired our first set of customers.

4. What are your customers saying about your product?
Since our launch, we have got excellent positive reviews from customers across the globe. In Google Playstore, many reviews are pointed towards ‘How we empowered them to buy the best with a smart technology’.
In a Sydney-based product review platform – SaaSHub, we have got equal voting along with Facebook Shops for the ‘best shopping recommendation engine’.
Also, we have tons of reviews that inspired us to do more. An example is

“One of the best promising products built for success that I have seen so far.”

CEO of Awesome Tech Product at Product Hunt

5. What are your proud achievements so far?
SpotKwik is a two-year-old Silicon Valley headquartered company, backed by Silicon Valley’s Deep-tech Investors and incubated at NASSCOM.
SpotKwik is the only Indian startup that made it to the list of top 5 Augmented Reality startups to watch globally in 2022 by StartUs Insights.
SpotKwik also has many global recognitions including Asia’s top 35 AR startups, World’s top 100 best shopping startups, India’s top 10 E-commerce startups etc. Lately, I’ve been awarded as ‘Young Entrepreneur 2022’ by Indian Achievers Forum for my visionary leadership and contribution in nation-building.

6. What is the next big thing in your industry?
With the advancements in hardware capabilities and the Web3 push by the market, I see life-size 3D and XR+AR first experiences will become mainstream across all consumer touchpoints – web, in-app and social channels, blurring the lines between virtual and reality. We are accelerating our growth and product development initiatives towards this direction and aim to pioneer the ever-changing ever-growing new market.

7. What are your plans for next 6-12 months?
We are mindful of our burn rate and focusing all our efforts towards building the strong ARPU across global markets. We are also looking for potential mergers to expand our presence in the next few quarters.
